Animating to music
Inspired by other animators on Instagram utilizing music to create animated loops, I started doing the same exercise and found it really helpful. I tried to explore more with utilizing contrast and misusing techniques like chromatic aberration.

How did you do the chromatic aberration?
The way I learned is having it precomped, apply the channel mixer effect, then duplicate it twice. Set the top 2 layers’ blending mode to add, and then in the effect controls, set one layer with red-red at 100, one with blue-blue at 100, and the last with green-green at 100. The rest of the values should be 0. Then play with scale, position, and/or rotation. Ideally you want it to be subtle, but this one I played around with making it egregious and also hue shifted it.

How did you do those transitions?
It’s just match cuts! My favorite way to cut. Doesn’t it feel so satisfying when you hit it just right?

How did you do the tunnel?
There might be a better way, but at the time I animated the movement of a rounded square and then matted that to a solid. Then I just duplicated it and offset it. Then the solids have a drop shadow and gradient layer style.
